Formula SAE series consist of nine official events, organized by the local associations of engineers in collaboration with SAE International.
These events use the same rulebook, with some minor revisions included for Formula Student UK and Formula Student Germany.
There is not a world championship, but the winning teams from each eligible national competition (Formula SAE, Formula Student, Formula SAE Australasia & Formula SAE Japan) automatically qualify for the FISITA World Cup competition, where they compete against one another at the same event.
There are also several unofficial events around the world, of which the most important are the Baltic Open and Formula Student Austria in Europe, The Texas Autocross Weekend and The Toronto Shootout in the USA
